I accidentally went out and bought myself these fantastically expensive shoes that are supposed to help me with my posture and my achy breaky back and many other things. And they’re really, really ugly, so ugly that they come with a training DVD, but they’re ugly in a way that weirdly pleases me, like in the way pugs are ugbeautiful. (Those who knew me when might recall black Fluevog nurse shoes that I so loved, which were also insanely ugly, and yet still like a cuter cousin to these shoes.)

Anyway, I tell you this because I’ve been agonizing all week about whether to bring them back to store, and so I ask Marco, “What do you think, should I keep them? Are they too medicinal?” Marco: “Well, they are very orthopedic looking, but whatever. You like them! And whenever we walk down the street, people will say, ‘Look at that nice, nice man.’”
